Spring certainly has made a grand entrance and inspired my spring cleaning this year. I love spring with new growth and colours in the garden. I even have vegetables and herbs growing this year. It’s amazing what happens when you remember to water plants!!

So with a new season, there are new looks emerging and I am also working on a new look website, which will help us stay in touch and keep you abreast of exciting new workshops and even shopping trips.

I would love your input, please send me your stories and testimonials and receive a free handy handbag inner for your efforts. Offer is open till October 24, 2009.

SPRING INSPIRATION
As we begin to shed layers and move into lighter clothes, it’s an ideal time to get on top of a few chores that will keep your clothes in great condition, and also ensure that your wardrobe is ready, well organised and in good shape for the warmer weather.

Here is a plan that we can work on together to have our wardrobes in great shape for Christmas.

Declutter your wardrobe – This is a great time to begin shopping for your spring wardrobe as the new season’s ranges appear. If you find it difficult to shop and find the right size for you, you need to be looking now. However, decluttering your wardrobe first will make room for the new.

Here is a checklist to help you get started….
1.    Clean and store your winter woollens correctly.
•    A light hand wash in a wool wash is sufficient for woollens.
•    Taking good care of your clothes will help them to last longer and look great as well. Moths are attracted to dirty clothes, so remember to wash before storing. A great place for storing winter clothes (if you don’t have the wardrobe space) is in your travel bags.
2.    Polish winter shoes and boots. If you have done this regularly, this task won’t take long.
•    Shoe shops or boot makers will carry leather conditioners to help keep your leather shoes lasting longer and nourished.
•    A shoe shine sponge is a great investment if you don’t already have one. Especially after the wind storm last week, everywhere I go, my shoes are dusty so a quick wipe over with the shoe sponge is a must. Remember that people look at your face then at your shoes!
•    Store your shoes in the shoe boxes if you have kept them. Scrunch paper and insert into your boots to help them stand or lay them in the cloth bags that hand bags come in.
3.    Sort out what needs to be repaired, remodelled, dry cleaned or put through the wash…
•    Be sure to trim any loose hanging threads and mend any dropped hems or holes.
•    Clothes that are worn out and have seen better days should be donated to charity or popped in the ragbag.
•    Check your clothes for stains and perspiration after each wear and wash before returning to your wardrobe. This can save you a lot of embarrassment next time you wear it.
4.    Clear cluttered wardrobes –it’s good to have a good and honest friend help you to do this. Have a glass of wine if you need to and just one! Put on your favourite music. Haven’t worn it for one year? Toss it or find someone to give it to. Holding on to things because you spent a week’s wages on it will cause you more grief. Learn from your mistake buys and move on.
•    Is there any way of changing or altering an outfit to get another season from it? Changing buttons, altering the skirt length (eg. shorten for this season if your legs allow you to go there).
•    Find out what really suits you and only buy something if you really love it, it goes with four other things in your wardrobe and you can’t live without it. That way you will have less clothes hanging in your wardrobe with the swing tag still on. I know there are some of you out there who do this. I’ve seen it in so many wardrobes that I declutter. You will have more room in your wardrobe and more clothes that make you feel fantastic every time you wear them.
•    Don’t forget to add something sexy to your lingerie draw. It makes you feel special and keeps your partner turned on!
5.    Declutter your makeup drawer.
•    There are colours in your drawer that don’t suit you. How do I know? Because you are not the only one! Give away or toss them.
•    Change your mascara if you haven’t in the past 3 months. Mascara tubes are a great place for breeding microorganisms.
•    Try a fresh look and update your makeup routine. Don’t become predictable.
•    You’ve never worn makeup? Give yourself a facelift by shaping your eyebrows, framing them with some eye shadow, even applying blush in the correct place can give the illusion that you look kilos lighter, define your beautiful eyes and choose a lip colour to enhance the colour in your eyes and give your teeth the appearance that they look whiter.

Finally, remember to reward yourself for all your hard work. Why not book into your favourite nail place for a pedicure and manicure? It’s important to dress your toes as you expose your feet in sandals and don’t forget your heels. Keep a foot paddle handy in the bathroom to regularly smooth your heels and moisturise them after your shower. Beautiful, clean, well-cared for feet are a must in the summer months, so get them ready and ravishing now!

I’d love to hear if this Newsletter has inspired you, please feel free to drop me a line and share your decluttering stories and ideas.

Have an amazing month,
Cheers
